Tournaments, leagues and championships in Berlin 33

The Berliner Schachverband sets the frame of the chess year: the team championship, the Berliner Mannschaftsmeisterschaft or BMM, from September into the spring, the Berliner Feierabendliga, the cup, and Berlin titles in rapid and blitz, for seniors and for women. Berlin's youth and school championships fill the junior calendar alongside them.

The clubs add opens of their own. The Werner-Ott-Open of SC Kreuzberg, the Lichtenberger Sommer and the Eckbauer Open bring classical games in summer and autumn, and the Internationales Spandauer Weihnachtsopen closes the year, with 27 to 30 December 2026 given for its ninth edition. SG NARVA holds the Kurt-Richter-Gedenkturnier, SG Lasker the Rudolf-Teschner-Gedenkturnier, and SV Königsjäger Süd-West the Berlin U25 Open, played in the Olympia Lounge of the Olympiastadion in October 2026.
